Modular Recycling Units
We are seeking solutions for the automated identification and separation of composite materials to enable mono-material recovery or high-value upcycling at the end of the building’s lifecycle.
We are seeking solutions for the automated identification and separation of composite materials to enable mono-material recovery or high-value upcycling at the end of the building’s lifecycle.
Key Challenge Partner
Our partner FingerHaus is pioneering the transition to mono-material construction and component reuse. The objective is a system where all materials at the end of their lifecycle are either fully recycled or upcycled. Additionally, an automated house scan will be able to determine the real-time market value of the integrated raw materials at any given time. The status quo: Complex composites, such as glued insulation, prevent efficient recycling and lead to high disposal costs. Meanwhile, the lack of digital material passports hinders the automated identification and sorting required for a high-value deconstruction.

Final Blueprint
At the end of its lifecycle, every component is either reused in its entirety or undergoes mono-material recycling. Wood scraps from production are no longer just incinerated for energy; they are upcycled into high-quality compound decking or innovative new materials. Furthermore, a digital scan of the building enables real-time valuation of all embedded raw materials.

Industry Bottlenecks
Mixed Waste & Composites: Bonded materials (e.g., glued insulation) impede recycling efforts and drive up disposal costs.
Zero Waste Objective: The lack of Digital Product Declarations creates a major bottleneck, preventing the automated identification and sorting of materials during deconstruction.

FAQs
Find answers to the most common questions about our program and application process.
Yes — if you are a tech startup with a prototype or MVP and a clear goal to validate or scale together with industry partners.
Our program is two-tiered and results-driven. All teams begin with the three-month Base Accelerator. High-performing teams then qualify for the subsequent 1:1 Accelerator, where we spend an additional three months working intensively and individually on your scaling strategy.
The Base Accelerator works well in a hybrid format. The 1:1 Accelerator includes on-site phases with our hub partners to validate and develop your solution in real environments.
We focus on teams beyond the pure idea stage. You should have a prototype, MVP, or early product that can be tested, validated, and further developed with partners.
No. Incorporation is not required for application. A GmbH or similar structure is helpful later — but not a condition to enter the program.
Yes. We welcome European and international teams — as long as they’re willing to collaborate with our industry and hub partners.
We focus on technologies with strong industrial relevance, particularly in LifeScience, Construction, and Industry & Automation. Cross-industry solutions are explicitly welcome.
No. Participation in LOVEDIS is free for startups — including access to infrastructures, expert teams, and program resources.
No — LOVEDIS does not take equity.
