Digital Initial Assessment and Patient Steering
We are looking for solutions that digitally capture patients even before their hospital visit, assess them medically, and route them systematically into the appropriate care structure.
Digital Initial Assessment and Patient Steering
We are looking for solutions that digitally capture patients even before their hospital visit, assess them medically, and route them systematically into the appropriate care structure.
Key Challenge Partner
Our hub partner, the University Hospital of Gießen and Marburg (UKGM), one of the largest university hospitals in Germany, wants to rethink the initial medical contact. In the region, smaller hospitals and general practitioner practices are increasingly disappearing. Patients arrive at the emergency department unguided and without a prior initial assessment, and for initial medical questions, people no longer consult a doctor but instead ask AI. As a result, many patients move outside of clinically validated structures, meaning that the initial medical touchpoint is at risk of being lost or shifting to the already overburdened initial assessment at the hospital.

Final Blueprint
Patients are digitally captured before they even enter the hospital. The system performs an initial medical assessment and steers each case into the right care setting with a single click: this ensures that the correct cases go directly to the university hospital, while all others are referred according to their needs to specialists, rehabilitation facilities, or care services. Through efficient internal patient routing, patients find the right place faster upon arrival, and the wards already know who is coming before the person arrives, allowing them to treat patients more efficiently and purposefully.

Industry Bottlenecks
Patients arrive without a referral or initial assessment because regional medical structures are increasingly breaking down.
Highly complex cases are only recognized when they are already physically standing in the emergency department.
Initial inquiries are increasingly shifting toward generic AI tools instead of clinically validated structures, causing the healthcare system to lose important initial contacts.
Waiting times are increasing because cases that could be resolved in an outpatient setting tie up urgently needed staff.

FAQs
Find answers to the most common questions about our program and application process.
No. Participation in LOVEDIS is free for startups — including access to infrastructures, expert teams, and program resources.
Our program is two-tiered and results-driven. All teams begin with the three-month Base Accelerator. High-performing teams then qualify for the subsequent 1:1 Accelerator, where we spend an additional three months working intensively and individually on your scaling strategy.
Yes — if you are a tech startup with a prototype or MVP and a clear goal to validate or scale together with industry partners.
The Base Accelerator works well in a hybrid format. The 1:1 Accelerator includes on-site phases with our hub partners to validate and develop your solution in real environments.
We focus on teams beyond the pure idea stage. You should have a prototype, MVP, or early product that can be tested, validated, and further developed with partners.
No. Incorporation is not required for application. A GmbH or similar structure is helpful later — but not a condition to enter the program.
Yes. We welcome European and international teams — as long as they’re willing to collaborate with our industry and hub partners.
We focus on technologies with strong industrial relevance, particularly in LifeScience, Construction, and Industry & Automation. Cross-industry solutions are explicitly welcome.
No — LOVEDIS does not take equity.
